One of the greatest stories of this genre. The illustrations are very funny and very sweet and the story is one we all can (or want to) relate to.

A marvelous and timeless story. It clearly exemplifies that it's okay to be who you are. One doesn't have to comply to "fit in" and be loved.

A favourite for sure. I love the sweet story and the wonderful ending. The illustrations are black and white but that doesn't hold back their power to move. Definitely a five star book.

I love the black and white drawings, they are gently realistic and beautiful. The pacing of the story makes this a fun one to read out loud.
